Strawberries and Aiden

So I washed up a container of strawberries and put them on the counter to cut up for lunch for my daycare kids. Aiden noticed them on the counter and started eating them. I wasn't really paying attention but I noticed he was really enjoying them because every minute or so, he had a new one in his hand. Until I noticed that all of the strawberries in the container had bites taken out of them....

Family Dinner

The other night we ate dinner outside and played in the backyard. It was fun!

Transformers 2

Aiden is absolutely obsessed with Transformers (he calls them "row-wrots" [robots]) and had been counting down the days until the 2nd movie came out. Nick took him to see the midnight showing last night and he was so excited! He was decked out in his Transformers shirt, Transformers toy and the first in line! But... before they made it to the line Nick bought him an optimus prime toy from walmart. When Aiden got out of the car he saw the theatre in the distance and made a B-line across the parking lot yelling back at Nick "Come on daddy!!! dare eet eez!! row-wrots over dare daddy!! wun daddy wun!! my me gotta get dis row-wrot woowee daddy wun wun!!" After Nick chased him through the parking lot they comensed to getting his toy. After that they drove over to the theatre where Aiden sat patiently for almost 2 hours in line. but while waiting patiently he every five minutes turned to Nick with his quote of the night, [Aiden]"Daddy..." [Nick]"what Aiden?" [Aiden]"my me gonna see row-wrot woowee!!" [Nick]"i know buddy." this lasted every five minutes until those 2 went into the theatre. It then changed to "Daddy... dis my row-wrot woowee." The manager of the theatre gave him the only Transformers movie poster and he only slept for 20 minutes through out the whole 3 hour movie! Nick said he had tons of fun and was super excited. Here are some pictures.

2009 Navy Corpsman Ball

Nick and I attended the Navy Corpsman Ball last night and had a lot of fun. After the ceremony, dinner, and door prizes, we walked across the street and went to Bar Norfolk so that Nick and Spencer could ride the mechanical bull. Pretty hilarious!!

Bike Riding

With Nick's kids coming to visit for the summer, we decided it would be fun (and cheap!) for the whole family to have bikes and go on bike rides together. Yesterday we got a bike for me and a carrier that goes on the back for Aiden. (He is still in the learning process of riding. Unfortunately his legs are not long enough to reach the pedals!) We went on a bike ride for about 2 hours yesterday and I felt like I was going into labor. My bum hurts so bad!!! We had fun though and Aiden could have kept going forever! (Must be nice to be pedaled around all over town!)

7 hours without power

You never realize how awesome electricity is until you don't have it...for 7 hours! We played games in the dark to pass the time. The storm started about 2:45pm and raged for about 3 hours. Trees were knocked down, lightening hit right in front of us, and it poured the whole time. It was very scary!
This is how dark it really was!

Fishing with my Husband

Aiden went to visit his Dad on Sunday, so Nick and I took advantage of the quite time and the No Fishing License Required weekend, and went fishing at Lake Meade in Suffolk, VA.

We rented a Jon boat with a motor. We loaded everything into the boat and Nick told me to get in so he could push us off. I noticed that water was coming into the boat...fast. (You can laugh at this next part.) I figured it would just flow back out once we started the motor and got going. Well I guess the spark plug looking thing the guy handed to me was a plug for the hole and that I was supposed to put it in the hole BEFORE getting into the boat and having Nick push us off the shore. Nobody told me this. So here we are sinking in the lake off of the shore with old men laughing at us and Nick telling me how much of a blonde I am. So we got back to shore before we sunk. Somehow I managed to get my shorts soaked. We put our stuff in the new boat and I got a lesson on how to plug a boat BEFORE getting in it. We ended the trip 6 hours later with Nick catching 4 fish, and me catching sunburned knees because Nick didn't tell me that wearing shorts when you go fishing is a bad idea. Oh well! We survived and had a lot of fun.

As much as I missed Aiden, I do enjoy the times he goes and visits with his dad because Nick and I get alone time without having to pay for a sitter! It's funny because we act like kids when we don't have any kids to watch haha! I am grateful for him!

Pirate Festival

We took Aiden to the Pirate Festival in Downtown Hampton on Saturday. He had a blast!
